Five taken to hospital after being involved in a serious MVA

SOUTH SPRING VALLEY - Multiple calls reporting a Accident with children trapped overflowed the lines of Rockland's 911 dispatch control.
Emergency Responders were directed to the scene in the Thruway Southbound near exit 14A.
Fire Dispatch sent two full Fire Department's Pearl River & Nanuet, and later on they dispatched South Spring Valley FD as well.

EMS was requested to the scene as the Fire Scene Commander confirmed multiple Victim's, and it was dispatched ambulances from Nanuet, Faist, & Hatzolah.

Hatzolah transported 2 patients to Westchester Medical Center.
Nanuet Ambulance transported 2 patients to Westchester Medical Center
Faist transported one patient to Nyack Hospital.

The Thruway was backed up in regards, and caused delayes for almost two hours.

The condition of the patients in unclear at this time.

Rockland County prepare to deal with Ebola

Rockland County First Responders Ready For Ebola The Rockland County Health Department is developing Ebola Response Teams that will be deployed to calls for help in which a case of Ebola is suspected. Even though vigilance is nothing new for paramedics, our specially-trained EMS teams will ensure the timely and safe transport of potential patients with Ebola, while protecting their personal health. EMS workers are being educated on the latest protocols for identification, isolation and medical evaluation of patients requiring care, with extensive training in the practice of donning and removing personal protective equipment. As part of the plan, the Ebola Response Teams will use a dedicated ambulance for the transport of any suspected patient. Rockland's Assistant EMS Coordinator Desiree Leone-Stoll and Enhanced 9-1-1 Coordinator Pablo Ramos display the personal protective equipment (PPE) used by local first responders.
