Rockland County 9-1-1 dispatch is getting the biggest amount funding

ALBANY – Counties in the region have been awarded state grants to support emergency response centers that operate 911 dispatch centers.
The funding is expected to aid localities in developing Next Generation 911 technology including text messaging, data services and improved geo-location for emergency response.
Public Safety Awareness Points operations grants have been awarded to:
Columbia County -- $160,221
Dutchess County -- $169,410
Greene County -- $151,468
Orange County -- $180,272
Putnam County -- $127,915
Rockland County -- $198,875
Sullivan County -- $161,772
Ulster County -- $162,798
Westchester County --  $164,751
