O&R prepare for pre-Thanksgiving snow fall

ROCKLAND - O&R crews will be ready to respond to any power outages that may occur as a result of a snow and rainstorm expected to hit our area the day before Thanksgiving.

The forecast calls for a combination of wind and wet heavy snow, which increases the potential for power line damage and electric service interruptions. We're mobilizing our workforce early Wednesday morning to carry out our Emergency Response Plan if needed.

We encourage you to be prepared as well. There's a wealth of information on our website offering you tips on how to:

Be prepared to weather the storm.
•Report and check the status of an outage.
•Download our mobile app and/or use our texting options.
•Use our Outage Map to find out where services are affected.

If you see downed electrical wires, do not go near them. Treat all downed wires as if they are live. Never attempt to move them or touch them with your hands or any object. Be mindful that downed wires can be hidden from view by tree limbs, snow or water. Report the situation to us immediately by calling Customer Service at 1-877-434-4100.
